Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech – Ouarzazate
Your journey begins with pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech.
We travel the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass, with stops to admire panoramic views and traditional Berber villages. We visit the historic Telouet Kasbah, once home to the powerful Glaoui family and an important stop on ancient caravan routes linking Marrakech to Timbuktu, Mali.
We then continue to the iconic Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most famous fortified villages. Explore its traditional earthen architecture and learn about Berber heritage during a guided visit.
Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel in Ouarzazate.
Day 2: Ouarzazate – Skoura – Dades Gorges
After breakfast, we continue toward the Dades Valley.
We pass through the Skoura oasis, known for its palm groves and historic kasbahs. Here, we visit the well-preserved Kasbah Amridil.
We then travel through the beautiful Valley of Roses, famous for its seasonal blooms and scenic landscapes, before continuing along the Dades Valley.
By late afternoon, we arrive at the dramatic Dades Gorges, where unique rock formations and winding roads create breathtaking scenery.
Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel in the Dades Valley.
Day 3: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga Sahara
After breakfast, we head toward the Sahara Desert.
We stop at the spectacular Todra Gorges, where towering canyon walls rise up to 300 meters — a favorite spot for nature lovers and photographers.
Continuing through Tinghir, Tinjdad, and Jorf, we reach Erfoud, known for its fossils, date palm groves, and gateway to the desert.
By afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga at the edge of the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Here begins one of the highlights of your journey: A camel trek across the dunes at sunset, as the Sahara glows in warm golden tones.
At your desert camp, you will enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, live Berber music around the campfire, and a peaceful night under a sky full of stars.
Overnight in a desert camp (standard or luxury options available).
Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – Nkob – Agdz
Wake early to experience a magical sunrise over the Sahara dunes.
After breakfast, return by camel (or 4×4) to Merzouga where your driver awaits. We then visit Rissani, known for its traditional market and authentic desert atmosphere.
Passing Berber villages, we continue through the desert landscapes of Alnif and Tazarine, a palm grove where Henna (a plant used for tattooing) is grown. Moroccan women use Henna for hand and feet tattoos in (wedding) celebrations and religious festivals.
Stop for lunch in Nkob, a charming village known for its kasbahs and connection to the Ait Atta tribe.
In the afternoon, we travel through the beautiful Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest river valley, filled with palm groves and ancient kasbahs, before arriving in Agdz.
Dinner and overnight stay in a traditional kasbah.
Day 5: Agdz – Fint Oasis – Marrakech
After breakfast, we continue toward Ouarzazate and visit the peaceful Fint Oasis, a hidden gem surrounded by palm groves and traditional villages.
After some time to relax and explore, we begin our return journey to Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains once again.

FAQs
Is this tour private or shared?
This is a 100% private tour. You will travel only with your own group and driver/guide.
Is the desert camp comfortable?
Yes. You can choose between a standard camp (private tent with shared facilities) or a luxury camp (private tent with en-suite bathroom and shower).
Are there electricity outlets in the desert camp?
Yes. Both standard and luxury camps provide electricity, usually powered by solar energy or generators during certain hours in the evening and early morning. You can charge your phone and camera in your private tent or in the common area.
Is there Wi-Fi in the desert camp?
Yes, most desert camps offer Wi-Fi in the common area. However, please note that the connection can be slow or limited due to the remote Sahara location. Mobile network coverage (especially Maroc Telecom) generally works in Merzouga and sometimes near the camp, but signal strength may vary. We encourage guests to enjoy the rare opportunity to disconnect, relax under the stars, and fully experience the magic of the Sahara, but you will still be able to stay in touch if needed.
What should I pack for the Sahara Desert?
Comfortable clothes, sunglasses, sunscreen, scarf for the wind, warm layers for the evening (especially in winter), and comfortable shoes.
