Morocco Family Tours

Morocco is one of the most rewarding places you can travel with children. In a single trip your family can ride camels into the Sahara and sleep under the stars, wander the color and noise of a Marrakech souk, shape bread with a Berber family in the Atlas Mountains, and end the week with beach time on the Atlantic coast. It is close to Europe, safe, endlessly varied, and small enough that you are never far from the next adventure.

Every tour we run is private and fully custom. That means no fixed group, no rigid coach schedule, and no trying to fit your family into someone else’s itinerary. We build the trip around your children, their ages, and the pace that suits you, with a private driver-guide who is with you from the first day to the last.

Why families choose a private tour of Morocco

A group tour has to move at the pace of twenty strangers. A family with a five-year-old and a fifteen-year-old needs something more flexible. That is exactly what we do.

✔ Built around your children. Shorter driving days for little ones, more adventure for teens, and stops chosen for what your kids will actually enjoy.

✔ Your own driver-guide. One trusted local guide travels with you the whole trip. They know which stretches to break up, where the clean rest stops are, and how to keep children engaged along the way.

✔ Total flexibility. Start late after a rough night’s sleep, add an extra pool afternoon, skip a site nobody is feeling. It is your trip.

✔ Genuine cultural contact. Because you travel privately, you get real encounters: a cooking class in a family home, a pottery workshop, tea with a nomad family. These are the moments kids remember.

✔ Handpicked, family-friendly stays. Riads and desert camps chosen for comfort, safety, and space for families, from characterful mid-range to full luxury.

✔ Private, never a group. You never share the trip with strangers. Your guide, your vehicle, your itinerary, and nobody else’s schedule.

Family tours by age

There is no single “right” Morocco trip for a family. The best one depends on how old your children are. Here is how we typically shape it.

Traveling with toddlers and young children (ages 2 to 6)

We keep drives short and days gentle, with plenty of downtime and pool breaks. Camel rides are slow and led, riads have courtyards to run around in, and we build in quiet afternoons so nobody is overtired. Think Marrakech, a taste of the desert, and the relaxed coast at Essaouira rather than long cross-country days.

Adventures for kids (ages 7 to 12)

This is a wonderful age for Morocco. Children are curious and up for more: overnight in a desert camp, a hands-on cooking or pottery class, a walk to a Berber village, dune surfing, and hunting for fossils. We balance activity with rest and keep the wow moments coming.

Teens (ages 13 to 18)

Teens get more adventure and more independence: longer treks in the Atlas, quad or camel excursions, surfing on the Atlantic, and deeper cultural exchange. We can weave in the kind of authentic, off-the-tourist-track experiences that make a trip feel like theirs, not just their parents’.

What families say about traveling with us

“Traveling alone with my twelve-year-old daughter for almost two weeks, in a country that was almost unknown to me, I had every worry about safety and about whether it would all work out. Those worries were promptly put to rest by the perfect organization and the care of everyone who made this adventure a success."

Planning a family trip to Morocco

Everything you need to know before you travel. Still have a question? Just ask us.

Are your Morocco tours suitable for families?

Absolutely. Family travel is one of the things we do best. Every tour is private and custom, so we shape it around your children’s ages, interests, and energy levels.

Any age. We have designed trips for families with toddlers, school-age children, and teenagers, and we adjust the pace and activities accordingly.

Yes. The itineraries on this page are just starting points. We can change the route, length, pace, accommodation level, and activities, or design something entirely new from scratch.

Most families choose between 5 and 14 days. A week is enough for a great first taste, while 10 to 14 days lets you combine the desert, mountains, imperial cities, and coast at a relaxed pace.

Yes. Morocco is one of the safest and most welcoming countries in North Africa for family travelers, and Moroccans adore children. Traveling privately with your own guide adds another layer of reassurance throughout the trip.

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are ideal, with warm, comfortable weather across the country. Winter is excellent for sunshine seekers and quieter cities, with cool desert nights. Summer is hot inland, so we lean toward the coast and mountains and keep midday activity light.

As much or as little as you want. Because your trip is private, we split long distances, add breaks, and can restructure the route so days never feel too long for young children.

In handpicked riads, family-friendly hotels, and comfortable desert camps chosen for safety, space, and character. You choose the comfort level, from lovely mid-range to full luxury.

Anywhere. We build family itineraries from Casablanca, Marrakech, Fes, or Tangier, based on where you fly in.

Send us your dates and a little about your family, and we will put together a personalized proposal. Once you are happy, a deposit secures your trip.
