Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca

Upon arrival in Casablanca, you will be welcomed by your driver and transferred to your hotel.

 

The remainder of the day is free to relax after your journey or begin exploring Morocco’s largest city at your own pace.

 

Overnight stay in a hotel.

Today, discover the highlights of Casablanca, Morocco’s cosmopolitan economic capital. Visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, dramatically positioned above the Atlantic Ocean and one of the largest mosques in the world.

 

Continue to the Habous Quarter, known for elegant arcades, markets, and traditional craftsmanship. You may also explore the Corniche waterfront promenade, cafés, beaches, and the city center’s striking Art Deco architecture.

 

Overnight stay in Casablanca.

After breakfast, travel south to Marrakech, Morocco’s famous Red City. Upon arrival, begin exploring the lively medina, colorful souks, hidden courtyards, and the legendary Jemaa el-Fnaa square, where storytellers, musicians, and food stalls create an unforgettable atmosphere.

 

You may also visit landmarks such as Koutoubia Mosque, Saadian Tombs, or Ben Youssef Madrasa depending on timing.

 

Overnight stay in a riad.

After breakfast, depart Marrakech and cross the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Along the route, enjoy panoramic mountain views, winding roads, and traditional Berber villages clinging to the hillsides.

Arrive at the iconic Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most famous fortified villages. After time to explore, continue to Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa.”

Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel.

Today’s journey leads deeper into southern Morocco through palm oases and dramatic desert scenery. Travel via the Skoura Oasis, famous for kasbahs and palm groves, then continue toward the spectacular Todra Gorges, where towering cliffs rise above a narrow canyon.

After lunch, pass through Tinjdad and Erfoud, known for fossils and date palms, before reaching Merzouga at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Enjoy a camel trek at sunset across the golden sands to your desert camp.

Dinner, Berber music, and overnight stay beneath the stars.

Wake to the peaceful silence of the Sahara and enjoy breakfast at camp. Today is dedicated to exploring the Merzouga region and its fascinating culture.

Visit Khamlia village, known for traditional Gnawa music with roots in sub-Saharan Africa. Continue to desert villages and fossil areas, and discover the landscapes surrounding the dunes.

You may also visit nomadic families and learn about traditional desert life. Enjoy a taste of local specialties such as Berber pizza.

Later, return to the dunes for another unforgettable desert evening. Overnight stay in Merzouga desert.

Wake early to witness a magical Sahara sunrise.After breakfast, return by camel (or 4×4) to Merzouga and begin the scenic return journey west.

Travel through Nkob near the Saghro Mountains, a charming village known for kasbahs and palm groves, then continue through Agdz and the magnificent Draa Valley, lined with thousands of date palms and ancient fortified villages.

Cross the High Atlas Mountains once more before arriving in Marrakech in the evening. Overnight stay in a hotel or riad.

Is this tour private or shared?

This is a 100% private tour. You will travel only with your own group and driver/guide.

Yes. You can choose between a standard camp (private tent with shared facilities) or a luxury camp (private tent with en-suite bathroom and shower).

Yes. Both standard and luxury camps provide electricity, usually powered by solar energy or generators during certain hours in the evening and early morning. You can charge your phone and camera in your private tent or in the common area. 

Yes, most desert camps offer Wi-Fi in the common area. However, please note that the connection can be slow or limited due to the remote Sahara location. Mobile network coverage (especially Maroc Telecom) generally works in Merzouga and sometimes near the camp, but signal strength may vary. We encourage guests to enjoy the rare opportunity to disconnect, relax under the stars, and fully experience the magic of the Sahara, but you will still be able to stay in touch if needed.
