Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

Your journey begins with pick-up from your accommodation in Fes. We travel south through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through Ifrane, known for its alpine-style architecture and clean mountain air. We continue to Azrou and the cedar forests, where Barbary macaques are often seen among the trees.

After a lunch stop in Midelt, we descend through dramatic mountain scenery into the spectacular Ziz Valley, famous for its palm groves, fortified villages, and panoramic views.

By late afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Enjoy a warm welcome at camp, dinner, and your first peaceful night in the Sahara.

Overnight in a desert camp (standard or luxury options available).

Today is dedicated to exploring the Merzouga region and fully enjoying the Sahara experience.

After breakfast, discover the surrounding desert landscapes, small villages, and local culture. Depending on your preferences, the day can include visits to nomadic families, Khamlia village for traditional Gnaoua music, fossil areas, oasis spots, or free time to relax among the dunes.

In the late afternoon, set out on a camel trek through the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Ride across the sand as the sun begins to set, creating unforgettable colors across the desert.

Return to camp for a traditional Moroccan dinner, Berber music around the campfire, and a magical night under the stars.

Overnight in a riad or desert camp.

Wake early to witness a breathtaking Sahara sunrise. After breakfast, begin the return journey to Fes.

We stop in Rissani, known for its traditional market and connection to the ancient Tafilalt region. Continue through the Ziz Valley with scenic stops along the way.

After lunch, travel back through Midelt, Azrou, and the Middle Atlas Mountains.
